NYC Museum Boasts Hip-Hop Memorabilia, Cheap Burgers

There's a new museum in New York City devoted to hip-hop -- and it serves cheap hamburgers.

Buy something to eat at Hollis Famous Burgers in Hollis, Queens, and you get a complimentary viewing of the joint's collection of more than 100 hip-hop artifacts. Mini-burgers go for $1.

The museum's collection includes gold and platinum records by Run-DMC and CDs by LL Cool J, Ja Rule and Irv Gotti, the founder of Murder Inc. -- all of them local rap legends.

The collection aims to celebrate the neighborhood's place in hip-hop lore. The eatery's owner, Orville Hall, says the neighborhood of Hollis is “our Motown, our Nashville, our Beale Street.”

At the grand opening on Thursday afternoon, rapper DMC (aka Darryl McDaniels) showed up to recite a few lyrics.
