McNally on the Bowery: The Great Graffiti Battle

Ever since Keith McNally called dibs on the large space at 282 Bowery for his planned pizza project he has been stuck in a battle with the neighborhood graffiti artists. First a pair of squiggly musicians were painted over back in August. Just this Thursday a large "classic Shepard Fairey poster" bit the dust. And over the weekend, Hunter Gatherer noticed yet another sizable mural, this one above the garage gate, has suddenly appeared. We'll predict, oh, a two - five day life span for this one. Per EV Grieve: "A shame that this will have to be painted over in the name of upscale eateries." You can keep trying graffiti artists, but you should know better than to trifle with the McNally.
