Eating Restaurant Week: The Harrison

What to eat during Summer Restaurant Week at this beloved neighborhood spot in Tribeca.

Summer Restaurant Week is on! Through July 31, out of the 250+ eateries participating, we bring you a crib sheet to our favorites.

The Harrison
355 Greenwich Street at Harrison Street; 212-274-9310;

Why: Without look-at-me gimmicks or the keening need for destination-dining status, this homey restaurant from the Red Cat group has been turning out honest, imaginative American fare for nearly a decade (and been a launching pad for several food bigwigs, like Little Owl’s Joey Campanaro).

What to order off the RW menu: Start with crispy skate fingers with Napa cabbage slaw and crème fraîche, an elegant twist on summery fried fish. Follow with bacon-crusted bluefish – proving that bacon’s rockstar ubiquity is far from over – with poblano cream and beefsteak tomatoes, or go turf with a grilled hanger steak with warm potato salad and red onions. Just one dish is offered at dessert, but you can’t go wrong with summer berry shortcake made with house biscuits and fresh whipped cream. (Note The Harrison is only doing dinner during Summer Restaurant Week; see the full menu here.)

During Restaurant Week, lunch at participating establishments is $24.07, dinner $35.00. Reserve early.
