Summer Restaurant Week is on! Through July 31, out of the 250+ eateries participating, we bring you a crib sheet to our favorites.
Primehouse New York
381 Park Avenue South at 27th Street; 212-824-2600; official website
Why: How many steakhouses do you know that have their own bull? Prime the Black Angus is on a farm in Kentucky right now, doing stud duty to produce the premium beef cattle that’ll wind up on your plate –- after a few ministrations from chef Stephen Hanson.
What to order off the RW menu: The lunch and dinner offerings are nearly identical here, so we say go for grilled double-cut bacon sided with frisée, roasted figs and Maytag Blue cheese to start, followed by a marinated hanger steak or the Kentucky burger, slathered with Wild Turkey bourbon BBQ sauce (for lunch) and the 7-oz. dry aged petit sirloin wth caramelized summer veg (for dinner). A summer berry pavlova (with creamsicle sherbet!) will make you feel all light and virtuous after your meatfest. (See the full menu here.)
During Restaurant Week, lunch at participating establishments is $24.07, dinner $35.00. Reserve early.
