EaterWire: Steve Lewis in at Black Book, Shaktoberfest, and More

MEDIA UNIVERSE— Guest of a Guest reports that Steve Lewis is leaving June Bug hinting that he may be moving over to Black Book. Chris Mohney, the execute editor of Blackbook.com, gives us the confirm, telling us the new column will debut this Thursday. Lewis' columns will be wider in scope, and while still long form, they will be shorter than his often epic pieces on June Bug. [GoaG; EaterWire]

MADISON SQ PARK— Some welcome Octoberfest news from Zagat: "Shake Shack in Madison Square Park will be hosting its Shaktoberfest celebration from October 3rd–17th. The details of the Shack's special menu are still being hashed out, but so far it includes pumpkin custard, German chocolate 'concretes' and various special sausages and bratwursts." [Zagat Buzz]

MIDTOWN EAST— If you missed the New York Culinary Experience, it's not the last cooking workshop fest of the season. Next up the much smaller, and incredibly cheaper, "Food Futures," from the French Institute Alliance Francaise. [EaterWire]

SOHO— Page Six Mag has come out with a list of "New Classic Dishes." The one whose inclusion we disagree with most whole-heartedly—Delicatessen's Cheeseburger Spring Rolls. [NYP via AHT]
