Locanda Verde serves up three courses of white truffle goodness on Monday.

Andrew Carmellini of Robert DeNiro’s Locanda Verde is not immune to the lure of the white truffle – on Monday, December 7, he’ll serve a three-course prix fixe laced with the fragrant fungi, supplied by his partner in ’shrooms, John Magazino of Primizie Fine Foods.

Yes, even the dessert, we’re told, will feature white truffles. Best part? That they’re calling the dinner Trufflepalooza – yep – and in praise of the menu’s $49.99 price tag, the press release includes one of the best lines of copy we’ve read all year: “Trufflepalooza is truffles for the people.”

Of course, no gastronomic ’palooza is democratic as to dispense with reservations -- the people still need to call the restaurant for a spot. Locanda Verde, 379 Greenwich Street; 212-925-3797.
