In my relentless search for a good, strong cup of coffee that's not at the usual chains, I stumbled upon the new Aroma Espresso Bar in Soho.

The brew is rich, the taste slightly sweet and the aroma simply sniffable.

The price of a cup is $1.75 and a tiny bar of chocolate comes with it.
However, if you really want to indulge, try the chocolate croissant for $2.70 which is baked on premises in the open kitchen.

If you really want to live on the wild side, order up the Aroma Coffee, a combination of espresso, aroma chocolate, cocoa, steamed milk and whipped cream for $3.95.

The Aroma at the corner of Greene Street and Houston is the only one in New York City.

However, a second site for the popular Israeli chain is said to be in the works for the Upper West Side. The Soho location is sleekly modern with stools that allow you to look out the picture windows at NYU across the street.

Open 7-11, 24/7, it's a cool place to chill whether you're a student or just finished shopping at Crate and Barrel in Soho a few blocks away.
