All Hail the Hot Dog Hootenanny

How many fancy frankfurters can you wash down with Prosecco? Find out at this Sunday's sausage spectacular at the Astor Center (plus: win tickets!)

Think you're a fan of hot dogs? We don't mean casually, like "I had this hot dog last week" fandom. We're talking deep, rabid love. You ferret out the good stuff. You brashly reject the wan cart waterdog (but would eat one in a pinch just to get your fix). You know what a New Jersey ripper is without Googling it.

Test your devotion this Sunday at the Astor Center when the NYC Hot Dog Hootenanny hits. Some of Gotham's finest doggeries will be cooking up their beloved franks, from New York Hotdog & Coffee (taste their Korean bulgogi dog) to Crif Dogs. For some foodie ed, weiner expert Bruce Kraig will be on hand to talk frankly (haw!) about the difference between Chicago and Carolina Red Hots, the allure of the Oscar Mayer grocery-store dog, and so on. And Serious Eats' Ed Levine will doscuss hot dog history.

Your $25 admission gets you all the franks you can eat, all the Kelso beer and Prosecco you can drink (because what's more traditional than washing down hot dogs with a sparkling white from the Veneto?), and all the weiner puns you can shake a Sabrett at.
