MISSED CONNECTION: The New York Festival of Song hits Merkin Hall with the theme “The Newest Deal.” The lineup is packed with talent, but we’ll admit we’re most curious to hear Gabriel Kahane’s Craigslistlieder, a song cycle based on—yes--personal ads from Craigslist. 8PM.

HANDFUL OF KEYS: Jazz-piano virtuoso Chick Corea pays tribute to a major influence of his, the late, great Bill Evans, accompanied in the task by a couple of musicians who worked with Evans in the 1960s and ‘70s, including Paul Motian, who was one third of Evans’ iconic trio. Further Explorations of Bill Evans runs intermittently through May 16 at the Blue Note, 8, 10:30PM.
