3/16: “Runaway” Cherie Currie, Boozy Book Launch…

It Books

"Runaway" Cherie Currie discusses her rock and roll youth.

CHERRY BOMB: Before 1970’s band biopic “The Runaways” hits NYC theaters in its limited release on Friday--in which Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart attempt the Herculean task of portraying two of the most badass women in music (Cherie Currie and Joan Jett, respectively)--head to Lincoln Square tonight, where the real Cherie Currie will be on hand to read from and sign her memoir “Neon Angel,” which inspired the film. Barnes & Noble, 7:30PM.

BLACK HUMOR: Don’t let the pun in the name scare you away: For the event “Addams Family: An Evilution,” Kevin Miserocchi, exec director of the Tee and Charles Addams Foundation, will discuss cartoonist Charles’ most enduring  creation, the ghoulish Addams Family (Miserocchi just authored a book on the subject). It goes down in conjunction with the exhibit Charles Addams’ New York at the Museum of the City of New York, 6:30PM.

99 BOTTLES: Zane Lamprey has made a career out of drinking: The host of FLN’s booze-fueled travel guide “Three Sheets” has a spinoff book dropping today – the very same day Greenpoint’s WORD Bookstore turns three years old. Naturally, they’re partying together: Pick up a copy of “Three Sheets: Drinking Made Easy! 6 Continents, 15 Countries, 190 Drinks, and 1 Mean Hangover!” (Villard), then head over to Diamond Bar to toast the man himself – we can think of hardly a better way to usher in the drinkiest day of the year. 6PM.
