Leonard Lopate hosts at the WNYC Greene Space, 7PM.

HAPPY FEET: The marquee will be crowded with a Broadway who’s who at the 25th Anniversary Silver Jubilee  gala of Career Transition for Dancers, a nonprofit dedicated to helping hoofers start and grow their post-performance careers. Twyla Tharp, Marvin Hamlisch, Bebe Neuwirth, Ann Reinking, Chita Rivera, Tommy Tune are just a few of the names, plus there’ll be numbers from 42nd Street and Chicago, and leading dance companies like Alvin Ailey and the Joffrey Ballet. And Angela Lansbury hosts. Perhaps most surprising, the low end of tickets for this fundraiser is genuinely low, at $45. NY City Center, 7PM.

ANIMAL KINGDOM: David Sedaris. We could probably just post his name, plus the place and time of tonight’s readers/signer, and you’d still drop everything and go. And why not? He remains one of our most inspired humorists, casting his wit upon wild things in the new work Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk. Barnes & Noble Union Square, 7PM.
