New York, the city that never sleeps, still finds a way to look good, according to The Daily Beast's recent rundown of the nation's most vain cities.
The Big Apple came in fifth on the list -- edged out by Boston and San Francisco.
The Daily Beast explains it took into account the percentage of the population who is overweight, the number of gym memberships and and the love of personal care items, like salon visits, waxing, and products.
The survey looked at the top 25 cities with the largest percentage of people who belong to gyms.
Then it took that list and measured BMI (body mass indicator) stats from the health department.
That list was then measured based on how much people spend on personal care. Here's the top five:
No. 1 San Francisco
No. 2 Boston
No. 3 New York
No. 4 Los Angeles
No. 5 Hartford
