Leave it to Refinery29 to track down some of the most fabulous New York-based fashion personalities and wrestle their resolutions for 2009 out of them. (Granted, the folks at the Refinery had some particularly high-brow aspirations of their own—"read Baudelaire"? Dang!)

Predictably, there were a lot of diet-related resolving: Alexander Wang is even planning to forsake his trademark McDonald's runs and "eat more organic ... no junk food." Though he did make a notable exception for pineapple buns—which got us googling to find the best in the city, of course. (If Wang can give up those fries over these pastries, there's something to this obsession). Serious Eats has a great roundup of bun-serving bakeries in Chinatown, so we're making it our resolution to track some down. It's certainly more preferable than following Wren designer Melissa Coker's advice and eating more Omega-3's. Yech.

Our favorite resolutions, however, are all the "be a better person"-type promises. Lisa Mayock of Vena Cava has the excellent notion of learning to speak enough Spanish that she can chat with the guy who runs her downstairs bodega—this seems like the right way to start getting a discount on our ridiculously-priced Kombucha Teas. Good lord that stuff's good. Abigail Lorick phrases it just right in vowing to "be more selfless."

But then of course there's the giving-and-yet-kooky-at-the-same-time vows of the likes of one Erin Wasson—designer, muse, and it-girl-extraordinaire—who's decided she wants to adopt as many animals as she possibly can in 2009. Quoth the model: "I can only imagine how crowded my house will be by 2010!" Oh we can, Erin. And a call to famed Dog Whisperer Cesar Chavez may be in order.
