French designer Isabel Marant has long been revered by stateside fashion editors for her knack for effortlessly chic, sexily undone collections. Even Style.com reported of her Fall 09 collection: "Editors and retailers alike appreciate the streetwise way Marant mixes elegant and casual."

Fashionologie reports, however, that, more and more, it's nearly impossible to buy any of Marant's pieces on the Web. Now, it's unconfirmed whether the designer just doesn't like the online space (understandable ... we guess) or if it has something to do with new stylish and brand consultant Emmanuelle Alt—but regardless, it seems sites like Satine, Bird, and Hejfina are pulling their stock of Isabel Marant's spring dresses and trousers off their sites at the designer's request.

We've got the inside scoop that you can e-mail the folks at Creatures of Comfort in L.A. to be sent their LookBook of Isabel Marant's latest in-store arrivals (and call in to purchase), but we tend to agree it's a poor substitute for the instant gratification that comes with buying something on the spot. But why all the secrecy, Ms. Marant?

Good thing we hear the designer's actually planning to open up her own boutique right here in New York City this coming winter.
