The glamorous opening for the Costume Institute's new exhibit, "The Model As Muse," is still generating headlines (Will the gala ever be the same? Has Kate Moss brought gold lame to the masses?), but a new film series is bringing the focus back to the meat, so to speak, of the exhibit: models.

Next month, the Costume Institute will host a series of screenings geared towards iconic movies about style that spefically highlight the sometimes-glamorous, sometimes-gritty world of models. It's only a three-film series, to be fair, but it really hits the biggest and the best, starting off with the legendary Audrey Hepburn starring opposite Fred Estaire in "Funny Face." Not only does the movie feature Hepburn at her best, the Givenchy costumes are absolutely not to be missed, nor is the unmistakable hand of Richard Avedon in the opening sequence.

In addition to "Funny Face," the series includes classics like "Qui êtes-vous, Polly Maggoo?" (with the movie's star, model Dorothy McGowan, as the special guest), and closes out with the cult fashion film, "Unzipped," the documentary following Isaac Mizrahi and all the '90 supermodels. Best of all, Mizrahi will be there in person to discuss the film afterwards!

July 10: "Funny Face"

July 17: "Qui êtes-vous, Polly Maggoo?"

July 24: "Unzipped"

All films will be screened at:
Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium
The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street
$10 general admission per event
Tickets: metmuseum.org/tickets or 212-570-3949
