SEA TO SHINING SEA: 50 writers tackled writings on 50 states for the collection State by State: A Panoramic Portrait of America -- brought to you by Sean Wilsey and Dave Eggers -- and tonight, edge-of-indie boldfacers like Parker Posey and Molly Shannon bring a slice of the book to life in readings at the New School. 7PM.

THE NAME'S BOND: Justin Bond -- of Shortbus fame, of Kiki and Herb fame, of general fabulousness fame -- performs an homage to his favorite Carpenters album of all time (plus a few of his favorite seasonal chestnuts) with Justin Bond: Close To You At Christmas, Darling at the L.E.S.' Abrons Arts Center tonight and tomorrow. 8PM.

LINOMITE: Bed-Stuy's Ad Hoc Art presents Brooklyn Block Party, the opening-night event for a three-week show of artistic pandemonium with works by new artists all working in the super-tactile lino- and woodcut medium. Also, there'll be booze. 7PM.
