Level V Space Will Reopen as 675 Bar

More upstairs/downstairs! The mysterious project that Steve Hanson was said to be working on in the bowels of 675 Hudson Street is coming to fruition. According to a B.R. Guest job posting, the chain is opening a bar/lounge in the meatpacking district this May. The posting doesn't say much beyond that, and B.R. Guest’s reps haven’t yet confirmed details, but a receptionist at Vento (the upstairs restaurant) tells us that the former Level V space will reopen as 675 Bar on May 1.

The way it was described to us, it'll be more of a bar than a club, with live music and D.J.'s. Get this -- there won't be bottle service, and along with an "eclectic mix of furniture" emitting a "downtown feel" there'll be games such as Ms. Pac Man, billiards, and foosball (a nod to the bygone Hog Pit?).

The basic bar menu will include Swedish meatballs, French-bread pizza, and seasonal pickles. Yes, pickles. Is this when the meatpacking finally stops pretending to be sophisticated?

675 Bar, 675 Hudson St., at 14th St.; call 212-699-2400 until further notice
