Hot Ticket: Lauren Ambrose at Joe's Pub

On 11/15, this Wild Thing gets down and dirty with blues, popular song and more

Not content to voice otherwordly K.W. in the biggest movie at the box office right now (“Where the Wild Things Are”), rock absurdist theater on Broadway (she played Queen Marie in Eugene Ionesco’s tragicomedy “Exit the King”), or star in the just-wrapped “Love and Other Impossible Pursuits,” opposite Natalie Portman, Lauren Ambrose also wants to sing. For you. At Joe’s Pub.

Ambrose is dusting off her pipes (which we first heard in "Six Feet Under"’s various musical dream sequences) to bring you an evening of songs on November 15. Call it a night of edgy cabaret: Ambrose’s musical influences are all over the map but always show her flair for high drama – fittingly, she’ll be performing tunes made popular by everyone from Nina Simone and Fanny Brice to Saint Vincent.
