Edible Manhattan Brings Harvest To Seaport

Even if you aren't lucky enough to have a roof/backyard/fire escape/windowsill garden, you can still enjoy this harvest season. Edible Manhattan is celebrating its one year anniversary (an astounding time to have launched a print magazine and have it survive, nonetheless thrive) by hosting a harvest party at the South Street Seaport.

But don't worry, this is a Manhattan harvest, so instead of corn and pumpkins, there will be cheese, wine, slow-braised meats, even pizza and pickles, all from the same local breweries, wineries and food makers that Edible Manhattan explored during its first year. Local purveyors include Russ & Daughters,  Schmaltz Brewing Company, Wolfer vineyards, Il Brigante Pizza and Kelso of Brooklyn. It is also the last weekend of the Fulton Stall Market, so you can stock up on some tasty local-ish veggies to get you through the rest of the week.

The event is from 4-8 (enough time to try a little bit of everything, no?) and for $40, less than what you would pay for a four course meal just about anywhere on this fine island. Buy tickets here.
