R.I.P.: Radio Happy Hour, (Le)Poisson Rouge’s live take on old-timey variety radio shows, presents Andrew W.K. and surprise guests paying tribute to 1980s zeitgeist-master John Hughes, starting with a “Breakfast Club” homage. Saturday, 2PM.

STRING THEORY: The 3rd Annual International Yo-Yo Open and New York State Yo-Yo Contest brings yo-yo athletes from as far away as Japan and Brazil to walk the dog, do the time warp, rock a suicide catch and perform all sorts of other yo-yo feats for fame and… more fame. South Street Seaport. Saturday, 11:30AM-5:30PM.

OARS UP: Register before 1PM at the Downtown Boathouse to spend your Saturday afternoon competing for paddling glory in the one-mile 28th Annual Harrison Street Regatta – kayaks are provided, or you can bring your own, if you’re really serious about it. Also fun? Parking it on Pier 96 to watch others exert themselves. Saturday; race begins at 2PM.

POWERHOUSE: There’ll be no shortage of vocal and musical prowess at SummerStage’s R&B lineup on Sunday, as Jazmine Sullivan, Jon. B and perennially underrated belter Chrisette Michelle play a free Central Park Show. 3PM.

CRACK HEAD: Gansevoort Street’s Macelleria restaurant is running a decadent lobster special Fridays through Sundays, a rare moment of surf on a menu largely dominated by turf. Get a one-and-a-quarter-pound Maine lobster with corn on the cob and coleslaw for $22 all weekend long.
