GIRL, REINVENTED: Kate Nash’s 2007 record “Made of Bricks” was written by the English high-schooler whilst convalescing after an accident, and the resulting disc had an understandable (and totally addictive) homespun vibe to it. Her follow-up brings out the big guns, though, including Duffy producer Bernard Butler, the odd New Wave vibe, and references to Bikini Kill (whose music Nash has said she listened to while making the new disc). She shows off her new, more polished self at Bowery Ballroom at 9PM.

TASTE CENTRAL: Grand Central Partnership’s 10th Annual Grand Gourmet: The Flavor of Midtown comes to Vanderbilt Hall in Grand Central Terminal, giving you two and a half hours in which to sample dishes and goods from more than 30 restaurants and food purveyors in the area, from Grand Central’s own Oyster Bar to Charlie Palmer's Métrazur to Murray’s Cheese. 7PM.

OLD TESTAMENT: Our historical record of the events that truly shaped the way we live today is, by now, largely on paper only. But for his book “The Last Leaf: Voices of History's Last-Known Survivors,” historian Stuart Lutz set out to find the few survivors of pivotal happenings--the last living person to fly with Amelia Earhart, to the three remaining Civil War widows--and get their account down for posterity. He comes to the Barnes & Noble at 82nd & Broadway to discuss the book, and is accompanied by Doris Eaton Travis who—at 106—is the last remaining Ziegfeld Follies Girl. 7PM.
