2/8: Chocolate & I Starts Tonight

Plus The Moth’s Anti-V-Day StorySlam+ Them Crooked Vultures

CHOCK FULL: Running from February 8-14, Chocolate & I is a weeklong series of seminars, tasting sessions and other events designed to celebrate chocolate within dining, design and the arts. Tonight, we recommend the chocolate-and-sake pairing at What Would the Gods Say?: “Lynda Stern from Bond Street Chocolates and Rick Smith from Sakaya will show you why sake (the drink of the gods according to Japan) pairs perfectly with chocolate (the food of the gods according to Mexico).” 511 West 25th Street, 7-9PM.

STUPID CUPID: We’re always fans of The Moth’s StorySlam events, but we have a special spot in our hearts for ones that happen this time of year: For tonight’s theme, “Love Hurts,” ten storytellers go tale-to-tale, and three teams of judges declare a winner. Housing Works Bookstore Café, 7PM.

FUZZY MATH: Them Crooked Vultures is Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age), Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters), and Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones. And in case you missed their '09 self-titled debut album, they just might be the future of balls-out rock and roll. Roseland Ballroom. 8PM.
