EAT UP: Metromix may be the competition, but we can’t stay mad at them when they organize events like Hot Plates Live, where $15 lets you endlessly taste wares from nifty new restaurants around town – in this iteration they’ve teamed up with Highline Ballroom (where the event goes down) and 11 eateries including Bia Garden, Corsino and Luke’s Lobster. 6-9PM.

CHEAP, CHEERFUL: Power-pop band Cheap Trick turns 36 this year, but Robin Zander and crew don’t seem a day over 21.
