The New Amsterdam Market returns on Sunday.

TO MARKET, TO MARKET: The monthly New Amsterdam Market returns to South Street, just in time for our Thankgiving provisioning. Swing by to get the goods from butchers, grocers, mongers, farmers, bakers and others, all sourcing locally, and generally soak up the smells, tastes and sounds (live music always livens up the joint). Sunday, 11AM-4PM.

ROCK, SCISSORS…: “Slash: Paper Under the Knife” features work by 50 artists (Tom Friedman, Kara Walker) who “cut, burn, tear, and shred paper to create compelling sculpture, installation, and video.” Go check out the evocative exhibit at the Museum of Arts and Design, running through April 4, 2010. Schedule varies.

SO RONERY: The only thing funnier than Kim Jong-Il as a puppet in “Team America: World Police” is the fact that the North Korean head honcho was rumored to be displeased about his portrayal in this animated feature from the South Park pair. Come to 92Y Tribeca on Saturday night and put the F back in freedom with the “Team America” Sing ’N Swear-Along. Saturday, 11PM.

ULTRASONIC: Not content to enigmatically cameo on “Gossip Girl” (is anyone else having trouble recovering from that?), indefatigable '80s rockers Sonic Youth play Terminal 5 on Saturday night, mining their catalogue from this summer’s release “The Eternal” allll the way back to the early days. Saturday, doors 7PM, show at 8PM.

YOUR AIM IS TRUE: There’s beer pong, and there’s ultimate beer pong, and then there’s the World Series of Beer Pong Satellite Tournament, going down at the L.E.S.’ Gallery Bar on Saturday, with an afterparty spun by 50Cent’s own DJ WhooKid!? Winning team gets paid entry to The World Series of Beer Pong V in Las Vegas in January. Saturday, 6PM.
