Alan Cumming's on the bill at People Lea Like Sing Burt Bacharach.

WHAT THE WORLD NEEDS: Broadway star/standup comic.jazzbo Lea DeLaria taps her sizeable Rolodex for a night of musical (and other) tributes to Burt Bacharach at Highline Ballroom: Sandra Bernhard, Alan Cumming, Daphne Rubin-Vega and Judy Gold are among those joining the collective hat-tip to Mr. Mellow. People Lea Like Sing Burt Bacharach is at 8PM.

HEY, NUDE: If your assessment of the recent Beatles-themed week on American Idol was, “Nice, but everyone kept their clothes on,” then Beatles Burlesque – an evening of tassel-twirling set to (live!) Fab Four tuneage – is your ticket to ride. If you miss tonight’s, take heart: it’s set to be a monthly event at Williamsburg’s Public Assembly. 9PM.

STAR DAVID: MoMA shines a deserved spotlight on the work of the perennially underrated David Niven: Actor of drama and comedy, master of subtlety, haver of an excellent mustache. (He rocked the John Waters before John Waters was even born.) David Niven: A Centenary Tribute kicks off today and runs through April 23; see his Oscar-winning turn in the 1958 ensemble piece “Separate Tables” (with Burt Lancaster and Rita Hayworth) at 8PM.
