Its Web site says 230 Fifth has hosted all kinds of A-list parties, but even if you're not the red-carpet type, the rooftop can still suit your outdoor-drinks-with-a-great-view needs. Just seven blocks due south of the Empire State Building, the bar's rooftop garden is 21 stories up, and if you need a cocktail to appreciate the view, the wait staff is more than happy to pour one for you. Those without table service, however, might want to buy a couple drinks at a time because the line at the bar is never short on Fridays. Shirt-and-tie happy hour revelers never stick to just that one drink, and the overlapping out-for-the-night crowd is always a thirsty bunch.
