In these strapped (get it?) times, non-profits are pulling ever stranger stunts to get dollars - like holding a bra-making contest called (wait for it) Creative Cups.
Long Island's Adelphi University (who? Yeah, like you knew much about Hofstrathis time two weeks ago) is hosting something called The Creative Cups™ (that's right, they trademarked it) Design Exhibition, inviting "individuals of all ages and levels of artistic talent to create decorated and themed 'bra art' for a thought-provoking art exhibition fund-raising event to benefit the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline & Support Program." OK, it's for a good cause. But it goes to show you that in an economy where dollars aren't even flowing freely in the for-profit world, non-profits are increasingly forced to show a little cleavage. The deadline for submissions is November 1 -- better get cracking.
Designers, let's hope this doesn't interfere with your deadline for sketching out that pink party number Mariah ordered.
