Flavor Tripping Party Comes to New York

For $40, the food gurus behind Flavortripping.com will take you on a journey of the senses Thursday night when they come to New York, armed with their miracle fruit (Sideroxylon dulcificum).  The magical berry is said to make lemons taste like sugar cubes, pickles like popsicles and "stout beers ... like chocolate milkshakes."

According to their site, the flavor tripping parties began back in February 2008, both here in the city and in San Francisco. About once a month, curious eaters, we'll call them, have gathered to sample all sorts of food after chewing on the "cranberry-sized West African berry that that numbs your sour and bitter tastebuds" for an hour or so after eating.
