An Emmy Award winning journalist, John Noel joined “News 4 New York” in February 1998 as a General Assignment Reporter covering local and national events. Noel joined NBC4 from WJBK-TV in Detroit where he was a general assignment reporter for five years. Prior to that, he worked for more than 10 years in the same capacity at the NBC affiliate KSDK-TV in St. Louis, Missouri.
A Brooklyn native, Noel graduated summa cum laude from Brooklyn College and received a Master’s Degree from the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
Noel was a member of the United States Air Force for four years. While stationed in Nakhom Phanom, Thailand he was assigned to the Armed Forces Radio and Television Network as a Radio Programmer and Announcer.
