Andrew Siff joined News 4 New York in May 2004 as a General Assignment Reporter from NY1 News where he had served as the Law Enforcement Reporter since 2001. He writes a regular blog for www.wnbc.com about New York City subways titled “Siff's Subway Series.”

Siff has been nominated for two Emmy awards while at News 4 New York, including a nomination in the category of “Best Live Field Reporting” for his work as the first reporter on the scene when a retaining wall on the Henry Hudson Parkway collapsed.

During 2008 Siff’s assignments have been wide-ranging. He covered the Sean Bell 50 Shots trial from start to finish and was the first to report on the verdict.   He covered the Roger Clemens hearing in Washington, DC on performance enhancing drugs. Siff also covered the Democratic Primary in South Carolina, scoring one-on-one interviews with Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John Edwards. In the days leading up to Governor Eliot Spitzer's resignation, Siff covered the breaking developments from Albany, NY as the scandal unfolded.

Sometimes covering a story means traveling quite a distance. In 2005, Siff and WNBC photographer Carmine Aloisio followed a caravan of supplies to Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrtina, tracking goods donated in New York, all the way to relief shelters and into the hands of families in need.

Prior to working at NY1, Siff worked at WKBW-TV in Buffalo from 1996-2001. Prior to that, he worked at WTVH-TV in Syracuse from 1994-1996.  Siff began his career as a general assignment reporter in 1991 at NBC affiliate WEEK-TV in Peoria, Illinois.  His first major assignment was covering the 1992 strike at Caterpillar Inc., when 14,000 workers hit the picket lines.

In addition to his Emmy nominations, Siff has been honored with an Associated Press Award for General Excellence in Reporting, the Syracuse Press Club Award for Feature Reporting, and the Associated Press Award for Investigative Journalism.

Siff graduated from Wesleyan University with a Bachelor's Degree in English.  He is a member of the Inner Circle, an annual journalists' spoof of city politics, which raises money for local charities.

Siff is a New York City native and Hunter High School alumnus.  He is an avid sports fan and resides in Manhattan.
