Just in time for the Manhattan Cocktail Classic, Sara mixes up some fresh springtime cocktails.
Leblon Caipirinha
2 oz. Leblon Cachaca
1 heaping tsp. superfine sugar
3 lime wedges
Directions: In the bottom of a mixing glass, muddle the limes in the sugar. Then add the Leblon and shake well with ice. Pour into a rocks glass.
Aperol Spring Fling
1 oz. Aperol
1 oz. Spiced Rum
1 oz. pineapple syrup**
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
Handful of mint leaves
Chilled Ginger Beer
Directions: Add all ingredients, except for ginger beer, to a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well. Strain into a crushed ice-filled highball or hurricane glass and top off with the Ginger Beer.
Garnish: pineapple leaf and pineapple wedge
Coco Caipirinha
1 1/2 oz. Leblon Cachaca
1 oz. Vita Coco Acai & Pomegranate
1 tsp. agave nectar
3 lime wedges
Directions: Muddle the lime wedges in the agave nectar. Add Leblon and Vita Coco and shake well with ice. Pour into a rocks glass.
New York Caipirinha
1 1/2 oz. Leblon Cachaca
1 strawberry, sliced
3 raspberries
1/2 oz. fresh lime juice
1 tsp. agave nectar
Directions: Muddle the raspberries and strawberries in the lime juice and agave nectar. Add the Leblon and shake well. Double strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.
Garnish: strawberry and raspberries
