Robin Hood Foundation Hosts Award Breakfast

Tuesday morning's Robin Hood Heroes Award Breakfast was an emotional event.

The
purpose is to celebrate special New Yorkers like Halana Richardson, who have overcome insurmountable obstacles and shown the resiliency of the human spirit.

Richardson's life went into a tailspin after her husband was murdered on his way home from work and just months later, she was laid off from her job as a NYC school aide. Halana supports her three children with 200 dollars a month in food stamps and groceries from the Yorkville Common Pantry in Manhattan.   She also sews handmade scarves and hats to help pay the bills.
Halana can be reached at halarichards572@aol.com.
