Sports Anchor

Scott Stanford joined NBC 4 New York as a Sports Anchor in October 2009. He is a four-time New York Emmy Award-winning sportscaster for “On-Camera Achievement.” Stanford is also a commentator for WWE and can be heard on WCBS Newsradio 880 in New York.

 
Prior to joining the NBC 4 New York team, Stanford was a sports anchor/reporter at WWOR My 9 (NY) for six years where he hosted the popular Geico Sunday Sports Rap. He was the post-game reporter for NY Yankees baseball along with hosting/reporting duties for Giants Football pre-game kickoff shows on Fox 5. Stanford’s “Know Your Foe” Giants quiz segment has also received an award from the Associated Press. 
 
Prior to joining My 9, Stanford was a full-time afternoon sports anchor on New York City’s WCBS Newsradio 880 where he received the 2002 and 2003 recipient of the “AIR Award,” which recognized him as the best radio sports anchor in the New York City market. He has also been a play-by-play announcer for college basketball and arena football. In addition, he has been heard as an announcer and voice-over artist for many local and national television programs such as The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on CBS and the GQ Men of the Year Awards.
 
A Rockland County native, Stanford graduated from SUNY Oswego where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcasting and Communications.
