Michael Jack

Michael Jack took over the helm of President and General Manager of NBC New York in June 2010.

An industry veteran, Jack oversees the flagship NBC 4 news station that encompasses a unique content center that produces news and information on multiple media platforms.

In his role, Jack is responsible for the growth of the digital television channel, NY Nonstop, as well as the management of the local website nbcnewyork.com and additional platforms including taxis, PATH trains, and other out-of-home venues at NBC New York.

Jack also oversees LX New York, the daily local lifestyle program.

Previously, Jack was President and General Manager of WRC-TV, NBC’s owned-and-operated station in Washington, DC. Branded NBC4, the station is the news, information and community outreach leader in the market.

Prior to that position, Jack served as President and General Manager of NBC 4, Columbus (WCMH-TV), where he was responsible for the overall management of the station. Via his efforts, the station led the market in Prime Time, Early Morning News, and the Late News audience.

Jack also served as Vice President, Sales, for KNBC in Los Angeles where he oversaw the sales department, including all local and national sales, sales administration, customer service, traffic, and operations.

Jack joined NBC in 1996 after 19 years at Capital Cities/ABC-TV, where he served in multiple management and account executive roles. He was Sales Manager of Capital Cities’ National Sales office in Los Angeles from 1986 until February 1996.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Jack held the positions first of National, then Local Sales Manager, at KGO-TV in San Francisco from August 1981 until February 1986. He was an Account Executive for ABC Spot Sales in Chicago from June 1980 until August 1981. Jack began his career in sales with WABC-TV in New York in October 1977.

Jack currently serves as the Division Leader of the NBCU Corporate Diversity Council. He served as Vice President of the Diversity Council from 2002-2006.

Michael Jack graduated from Haverford College in Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Political Science. 

He resides in New York with his wife, Mary, and daughter, Truce.
