Jen Maxfield joined NBC 4 New York in April 2013 as a general assignment reporter, covering New Jersey. Maxfield can be seen weeknights on News 4 New York at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
From 2002 to 2013 Maxfield worked for WABC Channel 7 Eyewitness News in New York City as a general assignment reporter, a New Jersey correspondent and a fill-in anchor. Prior to joining WABC, Maxfield worked for WIXT in Syracuse, New York as a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor, and prior to that for WIVT in Binghamton, New York as a general assignment reporter and anchor.
Maxfield began her career in journalism as an undergraduate student working as a production assistant and guest booker for CNN and as an intern for CNN at the United Nations. Maxfield received a M.S. from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism and a B.A. in Political Science from Columbia College of Columbia University where she wrote for the Columbia Daily Spectator.
Maxfield is a member of the Board of the Center for Food Action in Englewood, NJ and is active in The Opportunity Network (NYC) and the Women’s Rights Information Center (NJ). Maxfield lives in Bergen County, N.J. with her husband, Scott and their children.
