A six-foot shark made its way into the middle of a road in Overtown last night, and officials said it may have had a little help.

The brown shark was found dead on Northwest 5th Ave. and 4th St. last night, and now police and wildlife officials are fishing for suspects who may have been peddling the protected species to a seafood restaurant.

Miami Police found the shark around 9 p.m., and officials with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission quickly determined it was a protected nurse shark.

Then came a report that two men had tried to sell the shark at a nearby seafood restaurants, but were turned down.

There had also been reports of men carrying a large fish on the Miami Metrorail, according to the Miami Herald.
