1. Simone Biles, Aly Raisman Go 1-2 in Final Day of Gymnastics Competition in Rio

Simone Biles took home her fourth gold medal while teammate Aly Raisman locked up the silver medal in gymnastics floor exercise on Tuesday, the last day of gymnastics competition.

Biles was the favorite to win the floor routine, as she has been the favorite in most of her events thus far in Rio. She beat out Raisman by nearly a half-point, scoring 15.966 over her teammate's 15.5. Great Britain's Amy Tinkler came in fourth with a score of 14.933

Biles will go down in history as the top gold-medal winning American during a single Olympics. She fell short of a fifth gold Monday when a near-fall on the beam cost her points; she came in third in that event, behind New Jersey's Laurie Hernandez and Great Britain's Sanne Wevers.

In men's gymnastics, the Ukraine's Oleg Verniaiev took home gold on the parallel bars, with American Danell Leyva and Russia's David Belyavsky rounding out the podium. Leyva also took silver in the high bar, where Germany's Fabian Hambuechen won gold.

How to Watch: The events will air in primetime on NBC.

2. Team USA's Best Boxing Hope, NJ Star Shakur Stevenson, Advances to Semis

Rising Newark, New Jersey, star Shakur Stevenson, Team USA's primary candidate to win the first men's boxing gold medal in 12 years, beat Mongolia's Erdenebat Tsendbaatar in the men's bantamweight quarterfinals in a unanimous decision. With the win, he's guaranteed to make the podium in a weight class the U.S. hasn't medaled in since the 2000 Sydney Games.

In his first match, Stevenson defeated Brazilian fighter Robenilson de Jesus by unanimous decision 30-27, 29-28, 29-28. Stevenson was sharp in the bantamweight bout and busted de Jesus open above the right eye in the second round. Stevenson attacked him with a series of body shots that forced de Jesus to grab and hold him through the rest of the round.

The 19-year-old Stevenson, who trains in Alexandria, Virginia, got started in boxing when he was 5 years old after his grandfather introduced him to the sport and served as his trainer.

As he progressed through the ranks, the bantamweight (56kg/123 lbs) fighter turned in strong results at the youth level, particularly in international competition. By the time Stevenson won the U.S. Olympic Trials in December 2015, the 2014 Youth Olympic Games champion had already compiled an impeccable 17-0 record against international foes and was becoming a rising star in the sport.

3. Women's Basketball Team Keeps Rolling

The U.S women's basketball team came into their first knockout round on a string of blowout victories, and seemed to face a much stiffer test in the first half against Japan in Rio Tuesday.

But led by Diana Taurasi and Maya Moore, the American women closed out the match to win 110-64, limiting Japan to just 18 points in the second half. The U.S. faces either Canada or France in the semifinals on Thursday.

4. Kerri Walsh Jennings, April Ross Face Defending World Champs

Kerri Walsh Jennings and new partner April Ross lost in straight sets to Brazil's Agatha and Barbara in the Rio Olympics semifinals, in a game full of back-and-forth rallies and last-ditch digs.

The home team won the first set 22-20, then pulled out to a big lead at the start of the second set, which they won 21-18. After the final point, Agatha and Barbara jumped for joy as the crowd at the Copacabana Olympic beach volleyball venue roared.

It's only the third and fourth lost sets of Walsh Jennings' Olympic career.

The Brazilian duo, ranked No. 2, was looking to avenge another home team, Talita and Larissa, that was eliminated earlier in the day to Germany.

Walsh Jennings and Ross will face that Brazilian team, which went into the tournament in Rio as the first seed, for the bronze medal Wednesday, while Agatha and Barbara will play the Germans for gold.
