Introducing the Handbag That Charges Your Cell Phone

Everpurse compatible with iPhones and the Galaxy S3

Sick of your cell phone battery dying before you even make it home from work? A new invention ensures you won’t ever have to plug in again.

The Everpurse, a handbag/phone charger hybrid that combines cell-charging technology with fashionable clutches, is the new “it” product on the wireless charging scene, the Daily News reported.

The brainchild of Liz Ormesher Salcedo, a Chicago entrepreneur, the Everpurse is available through the product-launch website Kickstarter, at $129 for the fabric clutch and $159 for the leather clutch. Everpurse also offers a custom service where, if you’re willing to shell out $600, one of your own bags can be outfitted with the charging technology.

Salcedo is using Kickstarter to raise an initial $100,000, a figure she exceeded in six days, the News said. In the future, she hopes to sell the technology to handbag manufacturers.

For now, the Everpurse is only compatible with the iPhone 4, 4S and 5, as well as the Galaxy S3, and is available through Oct. 13 on Kickstarter.
