Both the Yankees and Mets are taking their new stadiums for a test drive with exhibition games before the season officially starts.

The Yankees will play the Chicago Cubs on Friday and Saturday at the new Yankee Stadium. The Mets will play the Boston Red Sox on the same days at Citi Field.

That's weather permitting -- the forecast Friday is for rain.

Both teams open the regular season Monday on the road.

The Yankees' home opener will be April 16 against the Cleveland Indians, while the Mets' will be April 13 against the San Diego Padres.

The Yankees' new ballpark cost $1.5 billion, the most ever for a baseball stadium. Citi Field cost $800 million.
