Mike Tyson is in the throes of a serious midlife crisis.

The former champion told Sports Illustrated he wants to live in a hut in Burma in order to do some good and win the respect of his children. The latest comments came after frighteningly frank conversations with a Las Vegas radio station and Details magazine in which he pummeled himself like he was Trevor Berbick.

"I want to count for something. Not in the name of God or any religion but in the name of self-dignity," Tyson told SI. "I feel I'm a clown, I'm a joke. I just want to do nice things so my kids can respect me. I want to live in a hut in Burma."

In the Details interview, Tyson branded himself "a f***ing piece of s***," and "a pig" and said his "life has been a waste."

Earlier this month, the 44-year-old former heavyweight champion spoke to ESPN Radio in Las Vegas Monday, touching on the tragedy, debauchery and redemption that have touched his life in recent years. The often-troubled legend lost his four-year-old daughter in May, 2009, in a freak accident involving a treadmill, and he said the horrific event sent him on yet another downward spiral.

"I felt like I was dying. I had an incident in life where I lost my four year old daughter in a tragic accident at home," he said. "I don’t know. I didn’t want to live anymore. So I said, that in order to go there, I had to change my life. I am going to change everything I dislike about myself. I changed everything that I was as a human being. I started that journey in October or November."
