Charles Barkley came to terms with his New Year's Eve DUI arrest, apologized and admitted his wrongdoing. But it will take a little jail time for Barkley to fully put the incident behind him.

The NBA Hall of Famer pleaded guilty to two counts of driving under the influence and pleaded "responsible" to running a stop sign in an Arizona court on Monday, according to a report on TMZ.com.

The charges stemmed from Barkley's Dec. 31 drunk driving arrest in Scottsdale, Ariz. where Barkley's blood-alcohol level was nearly twice (0.149) the Arizona legal limit of 0.08. He claimed he ran the stop sign because he was in a hurry to receive oral sex from a woman, according to reports.

The former 76er has to serve 10 days in an Arizona jail as part of his sentence. That punishment could be cut to five days if he takes an alcohol-education program.

Sir Charles will also need to pony up around $2,000 in fines.

The "Round Mound of Rebound" is set to report to jail on March 21. No word yet on where Barkley will serve his sentence.

Barkley recently returned to his job as an analyst for TNT network's NBA basketball coverage. He issued an on-air apology where he said he was embarrassed and that he will “never get behind the wheel” when he’s drunk again.
