The Captains Challenge tees off Sept. 26 in Sugar Grove, organizers announced Tuesday.

The officially sanctioned, sold-out Ryder Cup event starts at 9 a.m. at Rich Harvest Farms, 7S771 Dugan Road, in the west suburban town. During the event, 96 non-pro golfers will be divided into eight 12-person teams led by a past Ryder Cup U.S. captain.

The captains include Billy Casper, Ben Crenshaw, Dow Finsterwald, Tom Kite, Tom Lehman, Corey Pavin, Dave Stockton, Hall Sutton, Lee Trevino and Lanny Wadkins.

Each team plays an 18-hole round that includes all three formats used at the Cup.

Tickets to play were $6,000. All proceeds benefit the PGA Foundation and the Kids Golf Foundation.
