Taney Dragons Parade Around Philly

Philadelphia city officials, fans and sports superstars celebrated the Taney Dragons' Little League World Series accomplishments with a parade.

The parade began at 2 p.m. Wednesday on 20th and Market Streets in Center City. The parade then traveled east on Market Street, went around the southwest corner of City Hall and then traveled south on Broad Street down to FDR Park at Broad and Pattison streets.

The parade also made two stops, one at the Kimmel Center where the Philly POPS! performed for the team and another at Broad Street and Washington Avenue where Mummers performed.

The parade ended with a rally and speaking program at FDR Park in the field to the east of the American Swedish Historical Museum directly off Pattison Avenue.

Wednesday night, the team was honored during a pregame tribute by the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

The Taney Dragons represented the Mid-Atlantic region in the Little League World Series, and 13-year-old Mo'ne Davis captivated fans and became the first female pitcher to win a game in the series' 68-year history.

The team was eliminated from the series a game short of the United States championship game.
