Rafael Nadal Wins at Wimbledon

Rafael Nadal dominated Tomas Berdych to win his second Wimbledon championship and took home his eighth Grand Slam singles title.

The fierce persistence of Nadal wore down Berdych in three straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4.  Near the end of each set Rafa picked up his game, winning four out of his six break points in the match.  Nadal's serve was never broken in 15 games and he has 29 winners overall.

Rafa won his first Wimbledon title against Roger Federer in an electrifying five-set match in 2008.

But last year, Nadal missed the tournament due to tendinitis in both of his knees.  The knee injury proved to take a major toll on the Spaniard's game, leaving him without a major title for 11 months.

Nadal, known for his quick foot work began to make a comeback from the injury this spring, going on a 30-1 run and recapturing the No. 1 seed in Men's tennis.

This is the second time that Nadal has won both The French Open and Wimbledon back-to-back.  The only major title missing from Nadal's impressive tennis resume is the U.S. Open.

Berdych, seeded 12th, has also been climbing the ranks of Men's Tennis.  The 6-foot-5 Berdych, beat out Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic to be the first Czech to reach a Wimbledon final since 1987.  Berdych also reached the semi-finals at the French Open, showing his stamina and talent for the game.

But Berdych's upset against six-time Wimbledon champion, Federer, did not intimidate Nadal, who has beaten the Czech in seven straight matches.
