LeBron, Cavs Try for Snuggie World Record

Every spectator at Friday's game will don a blanket with sleeves

Sure, Cleveland Cavaliers fans have Shaquille O'Neal and LeBron James to brag about -- but they've got their sights on a bigger prize.

Spectators at Friday's game against the Detroit Pistons will don Snuggies in an attempt to set the world record for the largest gathering of people wearing fleece blankets, the NBA announced.

Each fan will wear one of the famous blankets with sleeves to the Cavs-Pistons game, set to tip off at 7 p.m. in Cleveland.

But these aren't just any Snuggies -- the Cavs are hooking fans up with free limited edition, Cavs-colored Snuggies to help set the record.

A Guinness World Records official will be on hand to certify the record, according to the NBA. A sellout crowd of 20, 562 is expected to make the Guinness attempt.

The game will be televised on ESPN -- so Snuggie fans who can't make the game can play along at home.
