New Yankees slugger Jacoby Ellsbury has probably seen his name on the scoreboard at Yankees Stadium plenty of times playing for the archrival Boston Red Sox, but if he looked to the outfield during his at-bats in his first home game in pinstripes, he might’ve noticed something amiss.
When the recently-signed center fielder went to bat in the bottom of the sixth inning against the Orioles Monday, the scoreboard read “Jacoby Ellsubry,” swapping the “B” and “U” in his last name, according to a photo from an observant fan at the game.

The staff that manages the scoreboard isn’t the first team to flub up Ellsbury’s name. During last week’s series against Boston, a Red Sox fan held up a sign proclaiming, “Jacoby Elsbury is a Trader.”
