Ex-Cowboy Josh Brent Sentenced for Crash That Killed Teammate

The jurors deliberating the fate of former Dallas Cowboys player Josh Brent sentenced him to 10 years in probation and 180 days in jail Friday.

Brent was convicted of intoxication manslaughter Wednesday for the drunken driving crash that led to the death of teammate and friend Jerry Brown Jr.

Jurors had continued deliberations Friday over the punishment in Brent's trial after failing to reach a decision Thursday.

Brent and Brown were friends and had played together at the University of Illinois. The two were driving home at the end of a night partying with teammates when Brent lost control of his Mercedes and crashed on a suburban Dallas highway.
