Shane Doan and Olli Jokinen each scored and the Phoenix Coyotes held on to beat the New York Islanders 5-4 Friday night.
Doug Weight had a pair of assists for the Islanders to become the eighth American-born player to reach the 1,000-point mark.
Zbynek Michalek had a goal and an assist, and Viktor Tikhonov and Joakim Lindstrom each added unassisted goals for the Coyotes, who won for the third time in four games.
Richard Park scored twice, Joshua Bailey scored his first NHL goal and Sean Bergenheim also tallied for the Islanders, who have lost three of four.
