Former Met Art Shamsky, 67, has been embroiled in a nasty lawsuit with his ex-wife.

Art Shamsky's ex-wife has long accused the former Met of being a real dog, but the charge now takes on a new resonance.

Kim Shamsky reportedly told the New York Post that 16 years ago Art sent her a card that said of their pet Maltese, Bianca: "I got carried away and started to play with the dog's nipple somewhere in the middle of the night."

Shamsky said that she received the card a year before the two had married and had opened it post-nuptials. She added that had she read the card when it was received it would have been a union buster.

"Who would ever buy a card like that?" she told the Post. "That means he was playing with the dog...It's disgusting."

The two divorced in 2006. Kim Shansky has filed a lawsuit since then that claims emotional-distress against her former husband for alleged infidelities and transmission of a sexually transmitted disease.

Both have threatened to take out restraining orders against each other.

Art Shamsky's lawyer responded to the latest doggie-dust up by saying: "I'd like to hear her repeat that charge in open court."
