Arrieta, Cubs Rock Pajamas After No-Hitter Sunday

The Chicago Cubs were already preparing for a pajama-themed plane ride home from Los Angeles on Sunday night, but pitcher Jake Arrieta ensured that it would be a party as he tossed a no-hitter in a 2-0 win over the Dodgers.

Predictably, the evening got fun in a hurry for the Cubs.

To start with, Arrieta arrived at his postgame press conference wearing a mustache-onesie. Here is a picture of the garment, along with the catcher that called Arrieta’s no-hitter:

Anthony Rizzo chimed in with his emoji-themed pajamas, and he was joined by several of his teammates, including Addison Russell and Kris Bryant:

Some players, including outfielder Matt Szczur, went with the Superman look:

While others, including relief pitcher Tommy Hunter, celebrated by sporting their favorite school’s colors:

Of course, it wouldn’t be a night without seeing what the architect of the pajama party had up his sleeve, and manager Joe Maddon didn’t disappoint as he channeled his inner Maverick and went with the Top Gun look:

Now everybody please gather for a group photo:
